Troop JLT Weekend - 2008

Event: Junior Leader Training (Troop Leader Training - TLT)

Location: Camp Carpenter, Manchester, NH

On November 21st through November 23rd we camped out at Camp Carpenter. For most of Saturday we rented out Manning Hall and stayed there all day. This was a GOOD thing, because it was REALLY cold outside. Later in the evening a Cub Scout group had rented out the hall, so we went back to our campsite for an hour to continue the JLT program.

The program covered many different topics. Some of the things we covered include:

• Learning the details of acronyms like EDGE and SMART goals.
• The ten qualities of a good patrol leader.
• We practiced a mental exercise where we crossed a lava pit using just three wooden planks.
• Building pyramids with cups – it represented building up to your goal.
  

Later on Cameron showed up and gave the closing speech.
